Ok, It has been a long time since I last came here, but to be honest I forgot how to get here. Well, that is no surprise to anyone I am sure.
Right now we are getting ready for John and his family to come visit us. It has been a long time.
I really want to see his whole family. Our baby girl should be really big by now and I understand she is talking up a up a storm.
I really want everyone to know how much I have enjoyed my children. They each have something very wonderful about them. I have been very lucky to have them in my life. It is a really killer to have some of them so far away. But at least I know they are having good lives and over all very happy.

Grandpa Van
After reading the information Sherry sent about my Grandfather Van Dalsem, I wanted to tell you how I remember him.
Grandpa Van was a tall thin man I recall him as being about 6 feet tall with gray hair and a gray mustache. For some reason I only recall him wearing dark suits. This could be due the fact we mostly saw him on Sunday afternoons or holidays, or he wore suits most of the time because he was a school teacher.
As children we would always try to get him to wiggle his ears at the dinner table. He could wiggle both of them at the same time. After dinner he would play checkers with the children or take them for a walk. We love to go for walks with him. But best of all were rides in his Model T Ford. He would take on a drive up to Mullholden Drive above the lights of Los Angeles. Once on a sunny afternoon he took my brother David, sister Judy and myself to the beach. My brother and sister pulled me scared to death into the waves, kicking and crying the whole time. I was bout 4 years old, they were 10 and 8. Some how my Grandpa Van was hit by a wave and knock down suit and all. When we got home we were all in hot water because we were all in our good clothes. The clothes were dry by then but full of sand.
In the back of their home was as 6 car garage divide into 3 units with a door between each area. Cars were kept in the first two units and the last unit was my Grandpa Vans wood working shop. There he would use a lay to do wood turning making bowls, candy dishes, and even table legs. He did beautiful work. He taught woodworking at a local high school, Horus Mann, and he made movie set and designed things for the sets.

Grandpa Van
As I read the information about my Grandpa Van Dalsem, that Sherry sent me, I wanted to share some of my memory's I had about him. What I remember the most is him taking us kids for rides in his model T Ford. It was so really great. One time he took us out to the beach. I was about four years old, that made Judy, 8, and David, 10. I was very scared by the waves and David and Judy pulled me into the waves were I was quickly knock down. Some how Grandpa Van, fully dressed in a suit was also knocked down, also. I could never recall why he was were he could be knocked into the water only that he was down for the count. Always at Christmas and again in the summers he would take us for rides up on Mulhallen Dr. to see all the lights of Los Angeles. It was really beautiful.
I also recall him playing checkers with all the kids and many times letting them win. He could and would at family dinners, at the children's request, wiggle his ears, both of them at the same time. We all thought that was really great. Some times after dinner he would take us for walks.
One of my best time with him was when he took us to see the three ring circus. It was around Easter time and we went to see some one first that gave each of us a hot cross bun. (I didn't really like them very much). The circus was fun but they did every thing at the same time and I couldn't watch it all. We had front row seats and it was so much fun.We all got some cotten candy and were a real mess by the time we came home to Nonnie, (our grandmother).
Grandpa Van worked out in his garadge work shop. He made beautiful wood items on his lay. We children love to play with his magnet on a stick. We could pick up nails and the like with out bending over. Next to the garadge was a fig tree and we could pick the figs and eat them on the long hot summer days.

So Here I Am
Well I would have never believed that I would be blogging. But here I am on a Friday Morning at 3:58 am. No sleep tonigh. Maybe later today.
I have been reading my daughters blog and really think this may be a great way to really tell people a little about what I really do think, and what is happening or has happen to me.
It is funny how doing this brings things to mind. I have been thinking alot about my brother lately. Which is really funny. I have been thinking about him all spring and summer long when my daughter, Sherry, called to tell me she had found his daughter on the wed. Now she found Jannelle on face book. I went to join face book and it took me here.
Anyway my brother, David, was the only one in my family that ever made me feel as if I really had some value. You know that is really the best gift anyone could ever give anyone. I think that is why I joined the Mormon Church. It really gives me a feeling of worth. Knowing that you have value is really very important and can make the differents in anyones life.
Sometimes I really have a problem with believing that the above is true. That was the main gift I wanted to give my children and often hope that it sunk in to their psyicy.
